I guess I am just trying to make up for lost time. Yesterday, I had a completely crazy day. It is my own fault too because I had mentioned on Facebook that morning that it was going to be a pretty easy day, I didnt have a lot going on...
First of all, I wanted to go visit my sister, Kyle in the hospital with her new baby, Lucy. I dropped my kids off with Amy Goodman and went over. As I left I told her I wouldnt be too long since I had to be home to get Carter off the bus at 315. I was sitting there with this soo cute baby and look up at the clock that says 315 I hurry and called Amy and told her to load ALL the kids in the car and rush over and get Carter off the bus. She did, she is such a great friend. She was in the middle of making dinner and had to load 4 kids in the car in about 1 minute. She came and got Lincoln and Carter and took them back to her house.
After I picked up my kids, we came home and started working on Lincoln's science fair project. I was totally flustered anyway. While doing this Jack is in Lincolns room and he suddenly starts screaming bloody murder. He runs out with his hand all black. LIncoln thought he had gotten a sharpie, but I could tell it was burned. I ran in Lincoln's room and found the problem. Lincoln's DS charger was plugged into the outlet. Jackson got a penny and put it behind the plug on top of the prongs of the plug. It started sparking and smoking really bad. I was not exactly sure what I was supposed to do. I grabbed the other end of the plug and just pulled it out of the outlet. I was a little afraid it would start the carpet on fire, but it didnt. It was quite an ordeal. His hand is still sore today and he is afraid of the outlet now, but he is on the mend. I hope this teaches him a lesson. He is always trying to mess with the outlets.
This is the plug with the penny melted to it. There is also a chunk missing from the top of the penny. I dont know where that went.
Here is his poor little thumb. It is very sore, but he is very lucky it wasnt worse. He could have been burn more severely, burned our house down or even electricuted himself. I am thankful for guardian angels.

I like the long version better than the single sentence on facebook. And the pictures. I read and showed my kids as a reminder to stay away from outlets! Hope his thumb feels better soon and PHEW that project is done! Take some pictures and blog about that, too, my kids are interested :o) Love ya
Oh! I'm so glad he's okay! I have to show this to Neil. Does the outlet still work? Do you even want to TRY it? =)
WOW that looks like it hurt! I am glad he is ok and maybe he will not be so curious about it anymore! Glad there was not much damage to your house too.
