First Day of School

The kids all started school last week. It is bittersweet. Lincoln started 6th grade. He likes his teacher, Mr. Ianni, even though it was not the one he thought he wanted. He has lots of homework, but has been diligent in getting it done so far. He is playing trumpet again this year and is now going to early morning practices, so I have to have him there by 730am. Carter is in 1st grade and spends half of his day in special ed, Mrs. Nelson's class and the other half in "regular" ed Mrs. Nelson's class. I thought that would be great, but so far it has been very confusing having the same name. McKinley is also in 1st grade in Ms. Hansen's class. She thought she would want to switch teachers because all her friends were in the other classes, but she decided she likes this class too. Jackson will start preschool in a few weeks. He is so excited to be going to Ms. Kerry's three days a week. He askes everyday if today is the day. They are all growing up so fast.

I know that it has been FOREVER since I got on here. I am continuously repenting and coming back to this blogging thing. Maybe this time it will stick. We will see!
Something funny happened last week and I really wanted to be able to remember it for when McKinley is grown up and as a family of her own.
Last Thursday was very busy for me. I had several things going. I made dinner and put it in the oven and ran out the door. I had Lincoln take it out and Trevor was home shortly after to have dinner with the kids. I made funeral potatoes with ham. Quick and easy, but delicious in my opinion. Trevor gets it out to the table to start dinner and McKinley says "What is this slop?" He "invited" her to excuse herself from dinner. I am SOO glad I was not there. I could be facing CPS charges now. ;)
